Der Dokumentarfilm TAKING THE STAND wurde beim New Yorker Filmfestival „Long Island International Film Expo 2016“ mit dem „Alan Fortunoff Humanitarian Award“ ausgezeichnet und erhielt zusätlich eine Nominierung in der Kategorie „Best Documentary“.

Dieses Filmfestival zählt gemäß MovieMaker Magazine zu den „One of the Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World“ und AUDIENCE AWARD bezeichnet es als „One of Top 10 Hottest Summer Festivals in the United States”.
